How can we help?
Email sbcombinator@agentmail.to with your question. Tell us which app you're using, your Mac model and your macOS version, and we'll get back to you.
File Hole
- A file didn't go in. File Hole won't take system folders, drives, installed apps, your home folder or top-level folders like Desktop and Documents. It also can't move a file that's in use or that it isn't allowed to change. Anything it refuses stays exactly where it was, and you get a notification saying so.
- Finding your files. Everything in the hole is in the File Hole folder in your home folder. Open it in Finder any time.
- Getting a file back. Click the hole, then drag the file out of orbit onto your desktop or into any folder.
- No warnings showing up. Check that notifications are on for File Hole in System Settings › Notifications.
- Something leaving too soon or too late. Check your time limit in File Hole's Settings. Opening or editing a file restarts its clock, and so does choosing Keep Longer.
Privacy
File Hole collects nothing and makes no internet connections. Read the File Hole privacy policy.
